Kerala renames IT department to include AI, future technologies

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 3 (UNI) The Kerala Government has renamed the Electronics and Information Technology Department as the Department of Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Future Technologies, expanding its mandate to cover emerging technology sectors and next-generation digital capabilities. The decision, formalised through a Government Order issued on October 3 following the Council of Ministers' decision on September 30, seeks to align the department's role with Kerala's evolving technology landscape and the State's long-term technology vision.
