Kerala bans sale of 41 batches of substandard drugs

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 3 (UNI) The Kerala Drugs Control Department has prohibited the sale and distribution of 41 batches of drugs found to be not of standard quality during tests conducted in September 2026. The State Drugs Controller has directed drug dealers, hospitals and other institutions having stocks of the affected batches to stop their sale and distribution and return the stocks. The list includes several widely used medicines, including Paracetamol, Folic Acid, Cefixime, Doxycycline, Telmisartan, Esomeprazole, Pantoprazole, Oral Rehydration Salts, Salbutamol, Albendazole and Methylprednisolone.
