Kerala Health Department brings out first infectious disease calendar

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 23 (UNI) The Kerala Health Department has brought out an infectious disease calendar for the first time, with the objective of preventing disease outbreaks, reducing transmission and avoiding deaths. Health Minister K. Muraleedharan released the calendar at the Government Secretariat here today. The minister said effective prevention and treatment of infectious diseases required coordinated efforts by the Health Department, other concerned government departments and the public. The calendar is an initiative to strengthen this coordination and ensure that preventive measures are taken at the appropriate time.
