Tirupati: SVIMS treats 60-year-old woman with complex traumatic diaphragmatic hernia

Tirupati, Sep 30 (UNI) Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati, has successfully treated a 60-year-old woman suffering from a complex traumatic diaphragmatic hernia following a serious accident, using advanced laparoscopic surgery and multidisciplinary critical care. The patient, a resident of Sundupalli in Kadapa district, was referred to SVIMS after her condition deteriorated at another hospital, the Institute said in a release on Wednesday. She was admitted with severe respiratory distress, spinal injuries and pneumonia, requiring ventilatory support.
