Tirupati: SVIMS performs complex spinal surgery on 25-year-old under TTD Pranadanam scheme

Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh), Sept 17 (UNI) Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) has successfully performed a complex corrective spinal surgery on a 25-year-old patient suffering from Idiopathic Dorsal Scoliosis under the Sri Venkateswara Pranadanam High-End Therapy Scheme of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). In a release, the Department of Neurosurgery had performed 5,194 surgeries free of cost under the TTD Pranadanam Scheme between 2001 and 2026, besides 162 high-end procedures under the High-End Therapy Scheme from 2023 to 2026, taking the total to 5,356 procedures, SVIMS Director and Vice-Chancellor Dr Gudaru Jagadish said in a release here on Thursday.
