National Fisherwomen Conclave begins at ICAR-CIFT, calls for greater participation in fisheries sector

Kochi, Sep 18 (UNI) A two-day National Fisherwomen Conclave focusing on greater recognition, inclusion and participation of women in India's fisheries sector began at the ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR-CIFT) here on Friday. Organised by the Society of Fisheries Technologists (India) (SOFTI) in association with ICAR-CIFT, the conclave brings together around 60 fisherwomen from Kerala, Lakshadweep, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
