Tirupati model for Sabarimala: Kerala CM promises world-class facilities after current season

Thiruvananthapuram/Sabarimala, Oct 17 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan on Saturday announced plans to transform Sabarimala into the country's best pilgrimage centre, with Tirupati-model facilities to be introduced for devotees after the current pilgrimage season. Addressing the media after a high-level review and coordination meeting of various departments at the Pamba Sreerama Saketham Auditorium to assess preparations for the upcoming Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage, the Chief Minister said comprehensive measures would be taken to improve pilgrim amenities, crowd management, safety and healthcare facilities. A German-model shelter capable of accommodating 6,000 devotees will be constructed at Nilakkal to ease congestion at Pamba.…
