Ready to cut bus fares if Centre lowers fuel prices: Shivakumar

Bengaluru, Nov 4 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said the state government was prepared to reduce bus fares if the Centre lowered petrol and diesel prices. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Shivakumar was responding to opposition parties' call for a statewide protest against the bus fare hike. "Transport corporations are running at a loss," he said, adding that the state had provided financial support when the corporations faced difficulty meeting their fuel costs.
