CPI demands Centre's intervention to regulate soaring airfares

Hyderabad, Nov 3 (UNI) CPI National leader K Narayana has demanded that the Central government immediately regulate airfares and curb the steep hike in air ticket prices, alleging that airlines were exploiting passengers by taking advantage of festivals, emergencies and urgent travel requirements. In a statement, while reacting to the soaring ticket prices, Narayana said the reported Supreme Court remark suggesting that people should simply avoid air travel was not a solution to the problem.
