Kakinada civic body undertakes drain desilting amid heavy rains

Kakinada, Nov 3 (UNI) The Kakinada Municipal Corporation has intensified drain desilting and waterlogging clearance operations amid heavy rains triggered by cyclonic weather conditions to prevent inundation in low-lying areas of the city. Municipal Commissioner NVV Satyanarayana personally supervised the operations on Tuesday and inspected the main drainage system at Mahalakshmi Nagar along with municipal engineering officials. Proclaimers were deployed to remove silt and clear obstructions in the main drain to ensure the free flow of rainwater, an official release said.
