AP: Cyclones Arnab & Murasu cause over Rs 500 Cr. loss to energy dept: Minister

Ongole, Nov 6 (UNI) Cyclones 'Arnab' and 'Murasu' have caused over Rs 500 crore loss to the Andhra Pradesh Energy Department, with over 7,500 electricity poles damaged. Informing this to the media here on Friday, Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar said that electricity lines, conductors and distribution transformers have also suffered extensive damage. The Minister, who toured cyclone-affected areas in Addanki and Santhanuthalapadu constituencies in Prakasam district and examined the damage to the electricity lines on Friday, said restoration work was progressing on a war footing, with a target of restoring power supply in all affected areas by Saturday evening.…
