South Central Railway wins National Signal & Telecommunication Award

Hyderabad, June 16 (UNI) South Central Railway (SCR) has been conferred with the prestigious National Signal & Telecommunication (S&T) Award at the International Convention and Exhibition 2026, organised jointly by the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE) and the Institution of Railway Signal and Telecommunication Engineers (IRSTE) under the aegis of the Ministry of Railways.
The award was presented in New Delhi on June 12, recognising SCR as the Best Performing Zonal Railway for its outstanding implementation of Kavach and Digital Electronic Interlocking Systems, a SCR statement said on Tuesday.
The recognition comes in the wake of SCR's significant achievements in railway safety and modernisation during 2025-26, including the commissioning of 21 Digital Electronic Interlocking Systems, implementation of Kavach 4.0 over 486 route kilometres, and Automatic Block Signalling over 479 route kilometres.
