Sonam Wangchuk’s Health Deteriorates on 16th Day of Hunger Strike; CJP Appeals for Nationwide Support Ahead of Parliament March

New Delhi, July 13 (UNI) Education reform activist Sonam Wangchuk’s health has deteriorated further onMonday as his indefinite hunger strike entered the 16th day, with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) raising concerns over his condition and appealing to citizens to join a proposed peaceful march to Parliament on July 20.
Addressing the media at Jantar Mantar on Monday, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said Wangchuk had lost 8.25 kg since beginning the hunger strike and was suffering from repeated drops in blood sugar levels, dizziness, muscle loss and visible physical weakness.
According to Dipke, Wangchuk’s blood sugar levels have repeatedly fallen below 70 mg/dL, while normal fasting blood sugar levels are generally around 100 mg/dL. He said the activist’s deteriorating condition, including the visible prominence of his rib cage, was a matter of serious concern.
