Sobhita Dhulipala stars in prime video crime drama ‘Cheekatilo’

New Delhi, Jan 9 (UNI) The release date for Sobhita Dhulipala’s upcoming Telugu crime drama ‘Cheekatilo’ has been officially announced.
Prime Video revealed that the film will premiere on January 23, sharing a new poster along with the announcement.
Directed by Sharan Kopishetty and produced by D. Suresh Babu under the banner of Suresh Productions, ‘Cheekatilo’ is written by Chandra Pemmaraju and Kopishetty.
Describing the project, Suresh Babu said the film is a layered and emotional suspense drama that explores the courage required to confront darkness and speak the truth.
He added that collaborating with Prime Video on the Prime Original has been a rewarding experience and marks another milestone in their long-standing partnership.
Babu further noted that both teams share a vision of supporting culturally rooted stories with relatable characters that engage audiences on a deeper level. With its haunting narrative and strong performances, he said, ‘Cheekatilo’ promises a gripping and memorable viewing experience.
The film features Dhulipala in the lead role as Sandhya, a true crime podcaster. Set in Hyderabad, the story follows her investigation into a series of crimes triggered by the mysterious death of her intern, leading her to uncover dark secrets connected to the city.
Viswadev Rachakonda plays a key role in the film, alongside Chaitanya Visalakshmi, Esha Chawla, Jhansi, Aamani and Vadlamani Srinivas. ‘Cheekatilo’ will stream exclusively on Prime Video starting January 23.
