Six dead as lorry rams into Ganesha immersion procession in Hassan; leaders condole

Hassan, Sep 12 (UNI) A tragic accident occurred in Mosalehoshalli village of Hassan district when a canter lorry rammed into a Ganesha immersion procession, leaving six people dead and with several others seriously injured. Some reports suggest the death toll could be higher.
Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda expressed deep grief over the tragedy, saying, "The heart-wrenching incident in Mosale Hosahalli village of Hassan district, where several people lost their lives and others sustained serious injuries in a horrific accident during the Ganesha immersion, has caused intense pain to the mind. May the departed souls find peace, and I pray that all the injured recover swiftly. I too share in the grief of those who have lost their family members in this accident."
Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai also conveyed his anguish, stating, "The tragic accident has caused intense pain to my heart. I pray that the souls of those who lost their lives attain peace. I wish a speedy recovery for the injured and strength for the families to bear their sorrow." He urged the state government to immediately announce compensation for the families of the deceased and ensure that the injured receive proper treatment.
