Sitharaman rebuts Rahul Gandhi, rejects 'economic tsunami' narrative

Bengaluru, June 14 (UNI) union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday dismissed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's warning of an impending "economic tsunami", asserting that "there is no disaster awaiting India" and that the country's economic fundamentals remain strong despite global uncertainties.
Addressing a press conference at Devanahalli near Bengaluru, Sitharaman said, "Some people are trying to create fear about the economy. There is no disaster awaiting India. The country's economy is moving ahead with strength despite global challenges."
She said India's growth story continues to be driven by major investments in infrastructure, digitalisation and public welfare. "Digital payments, public infrastructure and improved connectivity have transformed the country's economic landscape," she said.

Counterfeit currency racket busted in Dakshina Kannada, 7 held
