Sikkim receives COVID vaccine on Wednesday

Gangtok, Jan 13 (UNI) Vaccine for the prevention of Coronavirus is finally there. ‘Vaccine (Covishield) has been delivered here at 6.40 pm Wednesday. The Vaccine has been stored in a cooler at the Govt Hospital, informed Dr Pempa Tshering Bhutia, Director General cum Secretary Health, Govt of Sikkim, here.
Total 12,500 doses of Covishield vaccine from Serum Institute of India, Pune, have arrived for Vaccination drive to start from 16th January.
Dr Pempa added that COVID-19 vaccine is safe and immunogenic. He appealed to maintain COVID-19 appropriate behaviour at all times during and after the vaccination for protection against the virus.
