Significant & early monsoon likely in Himachal: IMD

Shimla, May 28 (UNI) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that the Southwest Monsoon will start early in 2024, bringing significant rainfall to Himachal Pradesh. This is because of favourable ocean conditions that help the monsoon arrive sooner.
For June to September 2024, India is expected to receive slightly more rain than usual, about 106% of the average 87 cm of rainfall. Himachal Pradesh is likely to get normal rainfall, between 92-108% of its long-term average of 734.4 mm.
In June, Himachal Pradesh is expected to receive 101.1 mm of rain, which is normal for this time of year.
