Sidhu to meet Priyanka on Dec 19 as Cong forms panel on Navjot Kaur’s remarks

Chandigarh, Dec 11 (UNI) Amid escalating tensions within the Punjab Congress, former state party chief Navjot Singh Sidhu is scheduled to meet Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on December 19. Sidhu had formally sought time from the central leadership to present his stance.
He had travelled to Delhi on Wednesday as well, but could not meet senior leaders due to the ongoing Parliament session. Sidhu is keen to share his position before the high command initiates any disciplinary steps.
In a parallel development, the Congress has set up a high-level committee to probe the controversial remarks made by Sidhu’s wife, Dr Navjot Kaur. She had alleged that the post of chief minister was being “traded” for ₹500 crore, a statement that has triggered uproar within the party.
