Siddaramaiah criticises Kumaraswamy’s BJP alliance, terms it ‘Manuvadi’

Bengaluru, Dec 6 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday launched a scathing attack on former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, branding him a “manuvadi” following his alliance with the BJP using the solemn occasion of Ambedkar’s 69th Mahaparinirvana Day to draw a stark ideological contrast.
Speaking to the media after laying floral tributes at Ambedkar’s statue on the east side of Vidhana Soudha, at a programme organised by the Department of Social Welfare, Siddaramaiah described Ambedkar as a rare and visionary leader who fought not only for Dalits but for all marginalised communities denied social justice in the country.
The Chief Minister strongly criticised Kumaraswamy’s recent letter to the union Education Minister seeking the inclusion of the Bhagavad Gita in school curricula. “Following his alliance with the BJP, H D Kumaraswamy has clearly embraced a manuvadi mindset, endorsing ideologies that uphold caste hierarchies instead of promoting equality,” he said.
