Shivakumar alleges massive real estate empire linked to Kumaraswamy family

Bengaluru, May 17 (UNI) Karnataka's political battleground has once again shifted to land — this time with Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar making fresh and explosive allegations against union Minister HD Kumaraswamy's family, claiming that their wealth has been significantly built through real estate dealings in and around Bengaluru.
Addressing the media, Shivakumar alleged that properties linked to Kumaraswamy's family were acquired at undervalued rates in key growth corridors of the city, particularly around the Peripheral Ring Road (PRR) region — one of Bengaluru's most sensitive and high-value infrastructure zones.
He claimed that rapid appreciation in land prices has turned these earlier acquisitions into multi-crore assets, raising questions over the nature and timing of the transactions.
