Shiv Sena protests against opposition over Women’s Reservation Bill

Hyderabad, April 19 (UNI) Shiv Sena leaders in Telangana staged a protest in front of the party’s state office on Sunday, opposing the stand of opposition parties in Parliament over the 33 per cent Women’s Reservation Bill.
Leading the protest, Shiv Sena Telangana State President Sinkaru Shivaji criticised opposition parties, alleging that they were blocking a long-pending bill aimed at empowering women.
He said the legislation, which seeks to ensure adequate representation for women in legislative bodies, has been delayed for decades and must be passed without further hurdles.

Chennai, May 15 (UNI) Reiterating his demand for scrapping NEET in view of cancellations of exams held already following allegations of question paper leak, former TN CM and DMK President M K Stalin on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promulgate an Ordinance--since Parliament is not in session--to amend section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, to rescind NEET for the academic year 2026–2027 and allow State Governments to make admissions as per the marks obtained in the qualifying examinations.
