Shimla gets advanced surveillance system for early detection of disease outbreaks: CM

Shimla, Apr 14 (UNI) Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday said that Shimla has been equipped with a modern surveillance system for timely detection, prevention and control of infectious disease outbreaks, with the inauguration of a Metropolitan Surveillance Unit (MSU) at Boileauganj.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the facility, established at a cost of Rs 1.56 crore, and described it as a significant step towards strengthening urban public health infrastructure in the state.
He said the MSU would function as an early warning system for the city, ensuring prompt action in case of any disease outbreak or public health emergency. “In the event of any disaster or outbreak, the unit will immediately analyse the situation and alert hospitals and concerned departments,” he said.
