Shashi Tharoor praises Priyanka Chopra’s keynote at Harvard India Conference

New Delhi, Feb 16 (UNI) Actor Priyanka Chopra reunited with Shashi Tharoor at the annual Harvard India Conference, where Chopra delivered the motivational closing keynote address. The conference, hosted at Harvard University, brought together leaders from Indian business, policy, and culture.
Both Chopra and Tharoor were among the headline speakers, with their backstage interaction catching the attention of attendees and fans.
Tharoor shared the moment on X, posting photographs from backstage and praising Chopra’s achievements.
“Caught up with Priyanka Chopra (after more than a decade) in the wings at Harvard backstage, just before her appearance as the closing keynote of the HarvardIndConf. Remarkable to see (and hear) how well she is doing! She has made India proud by conquering a stage on which Indians rarely get to appear. And of course she looks stunning, appears perfectly poised and sounds thoughtful and wise, what’s not to be proud of?!” he wrote.
Chopra responded warmly, expressing admiration and gratitude, “It was so good to see you again Shashi Tharoor Sir. Have always had such admiration for the orator that you are but as well for your clap backs. Thank you so much for staying for my panel and your wisdom. Hope you feel better soon and our paths cross again.”
During her keynote, Chopra reflected on her formative years and experiences in the United States. “Your life is a sum of choices and experiences. And me moving to America at that young age, it was a very defining age, your teen years shape the adult you become. You choose the things that work for you, that serve you. I spent that time in the States. It definitely defined me, made me independent,” she said.
Chopra, who has successfully built a career across both Bollywood and Hollywood, also shared insights on personal growth and the importance of making choices aligned with one’s values, highlighting how her journey abroad shaped her independence and identity.
The conference featured speakers from diverse sectors including technology, finance, literature, and sports, with notable attendees such as badminton champion PV Sindhu. The event celebrated Indian leadership, offered a platform for dialogue on India’s global presence, and underscored achievements across industries.
On the work front, Chopra is set to return to Indian cinema with Varanasi, directed by SS Rajamouli, co-starring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj. She will also appear in the upcoming OTT release, ‘The Bluff’.
