Shanta Kumar hailed landslide victory of BJP in BMC Polls

Palampur, Jan 16 (UNI) Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and former union minister Shanta Kumar on Friday hailed the landslide victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the municipal bodies and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections in Maharashtra.
In a press statement issued from Dubai, Shanta Kumar congratulated the party on what he described as a "historic and emphatic" win.
However, he expressed concern over Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's reaction to the results, alleging that even after such a decisive mandate, Gandhi has raised claims of vote theft.

RSS does not control BJP: Mohan Bhagwat in Lucknow

Lucknow, Feb 18 (UNI) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Wednesday that the Sangh does not remotely control the BJP.
"Sangh volunteers join the BJP and have even progressed there. However, it is wrong to say that the Sangh runs the BJP. However, those who oppose the BJP are the ones who oppose the RSS," he clarified during a programme here at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan.
