New Delhi, Apr 18 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday reiterated the government's determination to free the country from Naxalism before 31 March 2026, and appealed to the Naxalites to lay down their arms and join the mainstream by adopting the surrender policy.
The Home Minister's appeal came after 22 Naxalites alongwith arms and ammunition surrendered in various operations in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.
On his social media handle X, Shah said, "Cobra Commandos and Chhattisgarh Police have arrested 22 hardcore Naxalites with modern weapons and explosive materials in various operations in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh".
"Also, 11 Naxalites have surrendered in Badesetti Panchayat of Sukma, due to which this Panchayat has become completely Naxal-free," he said.
He further added, "I appeal to the hiding Naxalites to lay down their arms as soon as possible and join the mainstream by adopting the surrender policy of the Modi government. We are determined to free the country from Naxalism before 31 March 2026".
