Sensex recovers by 171.51 pts

Mumbai, Mar 11 (UNI) The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) bounced back today by 171.51 points at 24,794.85 as buying witnessed in Materials, FMCG, Telecom and Auto stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose by 53.35 points to 7,539.50.
The sensex registered day high and low at 24,816.67 and 24,590.28 points respectively.
Sectoral indices like Materials, FMCG, Finance, Telecom pushed the sensex up in early trade.
In scrips, Adani Ports, Axis Bank, Maruti Suzuki and ITC increased while Sun Pharma, Tata Steel and ONGC drifted lower.
The gainers were Adani Ports by 2.58 pc to Rs 232.20, Axis Bank by 1.52 pc to Rs 419.45, Maruti Suzuki by 1.51 pc to Rs 3682, ITC by 1.38 pc to Rs 320.40 and Reliance Bank by 1.28 pc to Rs 1025.
The losers were Sun Pharma by 1.47 pc to Rs 852.40, Tata Steel by 0.44 pc to Rs 294.85 and ONGC by 0.15 pc to Rs 205.40.
