Sensex jumps 634 pts

Mumbai, Nov 1 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Friday spurted 634 pts to 80,023.75, marking the beginning of Hindu Calender year (samvat 2071).

One-hour Special Muhurat trading is the there between 6 and 7 pm.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange ( NSE) rose 135 pts at 24,340.85.

The NSE registered days high and low at 24,368.25 and 24,285.

pts respectively.

The Sensex registered intra day high at 80,023 and 79,687.13 pts.

The Mid cap rose 0.85 pc and Small cap by 1.34 pc.

In 30 scrips, 29 advanced while one declined.

The gainers were M & M by 2.89 pc to Rs 2806.05, Tata Motors by 1.31 pc to Rs 845 and Adani Ports by 1.23 pc to Rs 1393.60.

Sole loser was Tech Mahindra by 0.07 pc to Rs 1607.20.
