Senior advocate Rajeev Ranjan appointed new advocate general of Jharkhand

Ranchi, Feb 7 (UNI) The state government has appointed senior lawyer of the Jharkhand High Court Rajeev Ranjan as the new Advocate General of the state.
A notification in this regard has been issued by the legal department. As per the notification Governor Drauapdi Murmu has accepted the resignation of the sitting advocate general Ajit Kumar with effect from February 6 and has appointed Rajeev Ranjan as the new advocate general of the state till further orders.
A day earlier, Ajit Kumar had written a letter to Chief Minister Hemant Soren urging him to relieve him from the post and appoint a new advocate general as soon as possible.
