Seethakka urges people to avoid peak heat hours, orders setting up of free water centres

Hyderabad, April 14 (UNI) Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka on Tuesday appealed to people across the state to avoid venturing outdoors during peak heat hours amid rising temperatures, and directed officials to set up free drinking water centres (Chalivendralu) in villages and towns.
In a public message, the Minister said temperatures have increased sharply in recent days and advised citizens to remain indoors between 1100 hours and 1500 hours.
She suggested completing daily activities during early morning hours and taking precautions such as covering the head with a cap or cloth if stepping out is unavoidable.

Stalin writes to Modi, reiterates demand to scrap NEET, wants Ordinance to rescind it for academic year 2026-27

Chennai, May 15 (UNI) Reiterating his demand for scrapping NEET in view of cancellations of exams held already following allegations of question paper leak, former TN CM and DMK President M K Stalin on Friday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promulgate an Ordinance--since Parliament is not in session--to amend section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, to rescind NEET for the academic year 2026–2027 and allow State Governments to make admissions as per the marks obtained in the qualifying examinations.
