Seasonal police check post set up at Chandratal lake for tourist safety

Shimla, June 13 (UNI) In a move aimed at enhancing tourist safety during the peak season, the Lahaul-Spiti Police has announced the establishment of a Seasonal Police Check Post (SCP) at Chandratal Lake, effective from June 14.
Superintendent of Police Lahaul & Spiti, Ilma Afroz, IPS, said in an official press note that the check post will remain active throughout the tourist season. It will play a key role in providing security coverage, emergency assistance, and route-related updates, in addition to promoting safe and responsible tourism in the ecologically sensitive region.
“This seasonal check post will help monitor visitor movement, offer weather updates, and assist tourists in case of any emergency. We urge all visitors to stay in touch with the post and follow the safety guidelines issued by the District Police,” SP Ilma Afroz stated.
