SC verdict on caste census a historic victory: R Krishnaiah

Hyderabad, May 20 (UNI) Rajya Sabha member R Krishnaiah on Wednesday described the Supreme Court’s verdict upholding the Centre’s decision to conduct a caste census along with the general census as a “historic victory” and hailed it as a major win for the Central Government.
Speaking at a meeting here, Krishnaiah expressed happiness over the dismissal of writ petitions filed by certain upper-caste groups challenging the caste census proposal.
He said the Supreme Court observed that the Central Government’s decision to conduct a caste census was a policy matter and made it clear that the judiciary would not interfere in such decisions.

Doctors reconstruct oral cancer patient’s jaw using leg bone at Hyderabad hospital

Hyderabad, June 9 (UNI): Doctors at Kamineni Hospitals on Tuesday said that they have successfully reconstructed the jaw of a 39-year-old man using bone and tissue from his leg after oral cancer caused by a prolonged history of gutkha chewing and smoking destroyed a portion of his jawbone.
