SC monitored panel should investigate Ram Temple offering controversy: SP MP Awadhesh Prasad

Ayodhya, June 14 (UNI) The local Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad on Sunday demanded that the controversy over missing donations and irregularities over accounting for offerings made to the Ayodhya Ram mandir, should be probed by an independent panel under the supervision of the Supreme Court.
The MP, at a press conference here, demanded that, to ensure an impartial inquiry, the Ram Mandir Trust be dissolved and all office-bearers removed from their posts. He argued that their continued presence in office could influence the investigation.
He stated that he does not have faith in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the UP government as it could hush up the entire matter and safeguard the interest of some individual, who was primarly responsible for the embezzlement. He did not name anybody in this regard.
