SAU hosts workshop on ML, Economics

New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) South Asian University recently organised a two-day interdisciplinary workshop on Machine Learning and Economics, attracting over 150 participants from both academia and the corporate sector, including international attendees from the UK, Sri Lanka, and Nepal.
The workshop was inaugurated by the President of the university, Prof. K K Aggarwal, who emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in today’s world. He praised the event’s organizers for fostering a dialogue between economics and technology, highlighting the transformative potential of machine learning in economic research and decision-making.
The sessions featured a variety of lectures, live demonstrations, and panel discussions, offering participants insights into how machine learning is applied to fields like predictive modeling and economic forecasting. Students from institutions such as IIT Delhi, IIIT Guwahati, IISER Bhopal, Narsee Monjee College, and others participated actively, gaining valuable exposure to these cutting-edge technologies.
