Samrat Choudhary inaugurates Bihar’s first river interlinking project

Patna, July 19 (UNI) Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated Bihar’s first river interlinking project at Sheohar on Sunday. Built at a cost of Rs 130.88 crore, the Belwa-Minapur Link Channel is expected to provide significant relief to Sheohar and other flood-prone areas of the region.
The link channel is expected to strengthen the region’s drainage system and provide a major boost to flood management and agricultural development. It is being regarded as one of the district’s most significant development projects.
Speaking on the occasion, Choudhary said the concept of river interlinking projects was envisioned to fulfill the dreams of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He said the project would give a new direction to integrated water resources management in Bihar.
