Sam Raimi’s ‘Send Help’ trailer unveiled: A tale of survival and power struggles

Washington, Oct 15 (UNI) The first trailer for Sam Raimi’s upcoming horror-thriller ‘Send Help’ has finally been released, offering a gripping blend of survival, power struggles, and psychological tension.
Running for two minutes and 21 seconds, the trailer features Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien as co-workers whose office rivalry takes a deadly turn after they become the sole survivors of a plane crash.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the story follows Linda (McAdams) and Bradley (O’Brien), two colleagues stranded on a deserted island when their company plane crashes while en route to a corporate event.
What starts as a desperate fight for survival soon escalates into a fierce battle of egos and long-simmering resentments.
In one striking scene, O’Brien’s character delivers a biting line that captures their toxic work dynamic, “As an executive, I see no value in you. You know we have the Bangkok merger coming up. Prove me wrong.” But after the crash, the power dynamic shifts, with McAdams’ Linda snapping back, “You are stuck with an asshole boss, just like I was. Although I’m betting I’m a much nicer boss than you would have ever been, except for maybe this part.”
Send Help marks Raimi’s return to the horror genre after more than a decade. Written by Mark Swift and Damian Shannon, the film is produced by Raimi alongside Zainab Azizi.
The cast also includes Dennis Haysbert, Chris Pang, Edyll Ismail, Xavier Samuel, Thaneth Warakulnukroh, and Emma Raimi.
Known for cult classics like 'The Evil Dead' and 'Drag Me to Hell', Raimi most recently directed 'Doctor Strange' in the 'Multiverse of Madness' (2022), which also starred McAdams.
Speaking about the film, O’Brien shared what Raimi told him, “He was like, ‘I love the movie. It’s weird. It’s wacky. I think a lot of people might love it, too. I also think some might not.’ And I was like, ‘Well, that’s great. To me, we’ve succeeded if that’s the case.” O’Brien told The Hollywood Reporter last month.
‘Send Help’ is scheduled to hit theaters on January 30, 2026.
