Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap call it quits after 7 years of marriage

New Delhi, July 14 (UNI) Shuttlers Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap, who tied the knot in the year 2018 have officially parted ways.
The news of their separation was confirmed after Saina posted a heartfelt note on her Instagram page, it read: "Life takes us in different directions sometimes. After much thought and consideration, Kashyap Parupalli and I have decided to part ways. We're choosing peace, growth, and healing-- for ourselves and each other. I'm grateful for the memories and wish nothing but the best moving forward. Thank you for understanding and respecting our privacy during this time."
The couple, once hailed as a power duo in Indian sports, trained together at the Pullela Gopichand Academy in Hyderabad, and later started dating in 2004. The professional journeys of both the players are marked by remarkable achievements. While Saina made a name for herself by clinching the world no.1 ranking and a bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics, Paruapalli followed through by winning gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and also made it to the BWF top 10 rankings.
Saina's historic achievement as the first Indian woman to attain the world no. 1 ranking in Badminton has inspired countless young athletes across the country, also paving the way for future generations to follow in her footsteps.
There has not been any communication regarding the matter from Parupalli Kashyap as yet.
