Sai cabinet clears new excise policy, edu hub and startup push in Chhattisgarh

Raipur, Jan 21 (UNI) The Chhattisgarh Cabinet on Wednesday approved a series of policy decisions covering excise reforms, higher education, startup promotion and public healthcare, underscoring the state government’s push towards fiscal stability, quality education and technology-driven growth.
The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, cleared the excise policy for the financial year 2026-27, authorising the excise department to carry out all consequential actions. Officials said the policy aims to ensure regulatory continuity while safeguarding state revenue interests, with detailed provisions to be notified separately.
A major highlight of the meeting was the Cabinet’s approval for establishing a national-level management institute in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. The government sanctioned the allotment of nearly 40-acre land in Sector-18 to Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) on a one-time 90-year lease for setting up the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).
