Sabarimala offerings misused for Ayyappa Sangamam, alleges Chennithala

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 6 (UNI) Congress Working Committee (CWC) member Ramesh Chennithala has levelled serious allegations against the Kerala Government and the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), accusing them of misusing Sabarimala devotees' offerings to fund the recent Ayyappa Sangamam event.
Chennithala alleged that the government and the Board organised the Ayyappa Sangamam purely as an election-oriented programme under the pretext of promoting faith, financing it with devotees' money.
“Even the offerings made by devotees are now being looted by the Devaswom Board and the government. The Ayyappa Sangamam was not a spiritual event, but an election stunt carried out with misused temple funds,” he charged.
