Rupee strengthens by 11 paise against USD

Mumbai, May 19 (UNI) The rupee on Monday gained further by 11 paise to close positive at 85.40 against US Dollar on brisk sell-off of the greenback by foreign bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.

The domestic unit that had slid by eight paise to 85.59 in opening session, erased earlier losses and ended firm at 85 40, advancing by 11 paise as compared to its previous close.

The rupee ended strong because of the weakness of the American currency against other world currencies, however, the weak close of domestic equity markets restricted its further gains.

The rupee recorded day's high and low at 85.36 and 85.61, respectively, dealers added.

Electronics industry hails India-US trade deal, true ‘catalyst’ for market expansion

New Delhi, Feb 10 (UNI) India’s electronics industry welcomed the India-US trade deal and expected it to open up opportunity of market expansion for electronics and semiconductor products in the global marketplace, especially for MSMEs.
Sectorally, the industry feels, the trade pact will enable advanced partnerships in Semiconductors, design and IPs. It will also provide Indian companies access to electronic components such as IC substrates, sensors and microcontrollers, carbon fibres and some specialty materials.

Car maker Maruti Suzuki transported 5 85 lakh cars by rail in 2025

Chennai, Feb 9 (UNI) India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India Ltd on Monday said it has set a new benchmark in green logistics by dispatching over 5.85 lakh vehicles through railways in CY 2025, a growth of 18% over CY 2024.
Interestingly, in the past decade, Maruti Suzuki’s share of rail mode in outbound logistics has grown exponentially, rising from 5.1% in 2016 to almost 26% in 2025, significantly reducing carbon emissions, the country’s oil imports and easing road congestion.
