Rupee falls 18 paise against USD

Mumbai, Apr 25 (UNI) Erasing gains, the Rupee on Friday slipped 18 paise to close negative at 85.44 against USD on rising demand for US Dollar from foreign banks and exporters, dealers at the Forex Market said.

The local unit that gained 14 paise at 85.13 in early trade, erased earlier gains and finished negative at 85.44, sliding 18 paise

as compared to its last close.

Firm Dollar against other world currencies and negative equity market pushed the Rupee down.

The Rupee recorded intra days high and low at 85.10 and 85.48 respectively, dealer added.
