Rupee ends strong at 85.98 paise against USD; 1- month-high

Mumbai, Mar 21 (UNI) The rupee on Friday registered gains of 39 paise to close at 85.98, a one-month-high against the US dollar because of dollar inflow, dealers at the Forex market said.

The domestic unit rose 9 paise to 86.28 in the opening session.

During the day, it was spurted by 39 paise to finish at 85.98 as compared to its last close.

A strong equity market also gave support to raise the rupee, the dealers informed.

The rupee recorded intraday highs and lows at 85.95 and 86.30, respectively, the dealer added.
