Rupee down by 14 paise against USD

Mumbai, June 18 (UNI) The rupee on Wednesday depreciated by 14 paise at 86.38 in the opening session on strong dollar demand by bankers and importers, amid looming global geopolitical and tariff uncertainties, traders said.

However, a positive opening in the domestic equity market limited the fall, the trader added.

The currency opened 13 paise lower at 86.37 against the dollar. It closed the previous session at 86.24.

The partially convertible rupee recorded intra-day highs and lows at 86.38 and 86.26, respectively, dealers added.
