Rs 2 lakh cr revenue loss no barrier to DA, benefits: Kerala FM

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 17 (UNI) Stating that Kerala has incurred a revenue loss of nearly Rs 2 lakh crore during the last five years, Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal has affirmed that the State government remains firmly committed to paying dearness allowance (DA) arrears and all statutory benefits to government employees and pensioners.
Saying that there should be no uncertainty or apprehension regarding the payment of DA and other dues, he categorically rejected media reports claiming that the government was adopting a negative stance on DA payments, describing them as misleading and capable of creating unnecessary confusion among employees and pensioners.
Balagopal clarified that payment of DA forms part of the government’s administrative policy, and the State has no alternative or contradictory approach in this regard.
