Road safety campaign carried out in Manipur

Imphal, Jan 14 (UNI) As part of the nationwide observance of National Road Safety Month (NRSM) 2026 under the theme 'Sadak Suraksha – Jeevan Raksha', the Manipur government has been carrying out a month-long campaign throughout January with a series of enforcement and awareness activities.
A special drive to check traffic violations was conducted on Wednesday near Kwakeithel police outpost, Imphal West. The drive was led by Additional District Magistrate, Imphal West, Keisham Jadumani Singh, in coordination with the police, Traffic Police Control Wing, District Transport Office and the media.
During the drive, motorists and commuters were sensitised on road safety norms, traffic rules and the importance of responsible driving. Emphasis was laid on preventing common violations and reducing road accidents, including strict adherence to the use of helmets and seat belts.
