RJD to hold statewide protest in Bihar on June 17 over crime, inflation, unemployment

Patna, 16 June (UNI): The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) today announced a statewide protest on June 17 against issues including alleged rising crimes against women, unemployment, inflation, corruption and deteriorating law and order in Bihar.
State party spokesperson Ejaz Ahmad said here that following directions from party leaders Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and Mangani Lal Mandal, the demonstrations would be organized at all district headquarters across the state, including Patna. According to him, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, senior leaders, office-bearers and workers from across Bihar will participate in the protest.
Ahmad alleged that the state government had failed to effectively address financial irregularities, corruption, inflation and public grievances. He also claimed that corruption and criminal activities were being allowed to flourish under government protection.

National-level teenage shooter goes missing, last seen at Howrah station

Kolkata, Jul 17 (UNI) Multiple police teams are engaged in a massive search operation to trace a teenage national-level shooter who has gone missing since leaving her home in neighbouring Howrah, sources said on Friday.
Damayanti Sen, 15, left her central Howrah home on Thursday morning to buy some groceries, but has gone missing since then.
