RJD seeks Governor’s intervention on salary delays, promotions for Bihar contract teachers

Patna, 13 June (UNI): The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) today urged Bihar Governor Syed Ata Hasnain to intervene to ensure timely payment of salaries and promotions for contractual teachers (Niyojit Shikshaks) in the state.
In a letter addressed to the Governor, RJD spokesperson Chittaranjan Gagan alleged that contract teachers in Bihar had not received their salaries for the past four months, causing severe financial hardship to them and their families.
Describing the situation as "deeply concerning and unfortunate," Gagan said the prolonged delay in salary payments had pushed many teachers and their dependents to the brink of economic distress.

Imphal, July 11 UNI : A few abandoned houses of residents belonging to the Meitei community near a security encampment at a village in Imphal West district were burnt on Saturday by a mob of Kuki miscreants evoking wide spread condemnations.
Two persons were apprehended for their alleged involvement in the incident, inviting condemnation from Chief Minister Y Khemchand, his predecessor N Biren and others.
