RIMS Manipur installs new Cancer treatment machines

Imphal, June 1 (UNI) The Regional Institute of Medical Science, ( RIMS ) has added new machinery to treat cancer patients. Prof. A. Santa Singh, Director of RIMS inaugurated CRYOSTAT (Frozen Section) and AUTOMATIC IHC STAINER (Ventana) at the Department of Pathology, RIMS, Imphal on Wednesday.
Dr Santa, the Department of Pathology, RIMS, Imphal has achieved a milestone for Cancer Treatment with the installation of the machines.
He said the CRYOSTAT machine will help Surgeons during oncosurgery (Cancer Surgery). This machine will enable doctors to give intraoperative reports for clearance of cancer margin within a few minutes. It will also help the Nephrology and Dermatology Departments for Immunofluorescence study.
