Restrictions imposed in Leh ahead of LAB-KDA silent march and blackout call

Srinagar, Oct 17 (UNI) The Leh District Magistrate on Friday evening issued an order banning the holding of rallies or marches, and the gathering of more than five people, ahead of tomorrow's silent march and blackout called by the Leh Apex Body (LAB) and the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) in solidarity with those killed and injured during the September 24 violence.
District Magistrate of Leh Romil Singh Donk imposed the restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023), citing apprehensions of disturbance to public peace and law and order.
