Repeat drug offender Gagan Bhushan detained under PIT NDPS Act

Shimla, Feb 19 (UNI): Intensifying its campaign against the growing menace of Chitta, Shimla District Police have detained a habitual drug offender under the provisions of the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988 (PIT NDPS Act).
The accused, Gagan Bhushan, son of late Shri Shishu Pal, resident of Village Bejori, Post Office Seema, Tehsil Rohru, District Shimla, has been placed under preventive detention for three months.
Police records show that Gagan Bhushan was repeatedly booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, in multiple cases. In FIR No. 22/2019 dated March 25, 2019, registered at Police Station Juvwal, 3.25 grams of heroin (Chitta) were recovered from his possession under Sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act.

Punjabi Khatri forum seeks law against derogatory remarks targeting community

Panchkula, Jul 13 (UNI) Members of the Punjabi Khatri Suraksha Manch urged the Haryana Government to enact a law to curb the use of derogatory terms against members of the Punjabi Arora-Khatri community, including "refugee" and "Pakistani."
The demand was raised during a function organised by the Hansi unit of the forum at the local Rest House, where Haryana Trade Welfare Board Chairman Rajesh Thakral was accorded a warm welcome with flower garlands and a traditional turban.
